CLASSICAL VENTURI TUBE

A classical venturi tube has long traditions in Dp-based flow measuring. it offers accurate measuring with a minimum pressure loss. As far as the structure is concerned a venturi tube is relatively demanding and expensive.

A Venturi tube is used typically in pipes with large diameter. It suits well for both liquid and steam measurement. Venturi tube has one great advantage compared to any means of flow measuring. It needs very little straight length before the instrument and it has very low pressure loss.

Fluid dynamically this is the most advanced solution of Dp-based flow measuring.

A venturi tube is an excellent instrument which suits well in a wide range of various applications. The instrument is used very often in large MP and LP steam lines at high velocity. The short straight pipes before the instrument gives a degree of freedom in the installation.

Due to its price it does not suit very well in high pressure lines with large diameters
