ISA 1932 NOZZLE
Another widely used ISO 5167 application is a ISA1932 flow nozzle.
It is available in various structures depending on the use. A nozzle
applies equally well to both low and high pressure flow measuring.
A nozzle is mostly used in high pressure and temperature water lines
such as the feed water line. The purchasing prices are somewhat
more expensive than that of an orifice plate.
A nozzle has a slightly lower shape resistance compared to an orifice
plate which makes the instrument more efficient (Smaller pressure
loss) A nozzle can withstand solid particles very well. The required
straight lengths are approximately 26D.
In most cases connection to the process is by welding.
- PN64 - PN400
- DN50 - DN600
- Length according to DIN 19215 or tailored
- Materials are stainless steel and heat resisting steels.
A nozzle is a relatively inexpensive instrument which suits well
for liquid and steam at low flow rates.
As an instrument nozzle is not as fragile as an orifice plate.
A nozzle has a long life span and it maintains it's accuracy very
well.
A nozzle can be installed to the process
before the blowout.
